This is the third edition of CSA C749, Energy Performance of dehumidifiers. It supersedes the previous editions, published in 2007 and 1994.
This new edition of C749 has been developed to reflect changes in US DOE test procedure (Docket No. EERE–2010–BT–TP–0039 – Final Rule dated Oct 31, 2012).
This Standard is considered suitable for use for conformity assessment within the stated scope of the Standard.
CSA Group acknowledges that the development of this Standard was made possible, in part, by the financial support of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan).
Scope:
1.1
This Standard specifies
a) energy performance requirements for factory-made, self-contained, electrically-operated, mechanically-refrigerated household dehumidifiers with daily water-removal capacities of up to 87.5 L (185 U.S. pints);
b) test procedures for measuring capacity, standby power, off mode power, and active mode energy use; and
c) minimum and high efficiency energy factor, EF.
1.2
This Standard does not include desiccant, thermoelectric, and ducted products.
1.3
The values given in SI units are the units of record for the purposes of this Standard. The values given in parentheses are for information and comparison only.
1.4
