This Technical Report provides guidelines for use of the DS1 Extended Superframe Format data link for applications other than those defined in ANSI T1.403-1989, Carrier to Customer Installation – DS1 Metallic Interface. These guidelines provide a framework for applications developers to design data link communications that can coexist with those communications defined in the standard.
