This document addresses the security of transaction oriented TMN management messages exchanges over TMN Q3 interfaces among Network Elements (NEs) and Operation Systems (OSs). It offers five levels of security: authentication of the association initiator, two-way peer-entity authentication, data origin authentication, access control and whole Protocol Data Unit (PDU) protection (confidentiality, integrity and nonrepudiation).
